Writing Prompt: Pathos

Old Cogsworth, a rusty timepiece, sat atop the mantle, hands forever frozen at six o’clock. A pendulum, usually his loyal companion, lay shattered on the hearth below. A single tear, like a fat diamond, rolled down Moira’s cheek the pathos was too much.
