Sci_Fi Friday: Tea for One

It was a Friday. That peculiar day of the week when the extraordinary could happen. And here was Doug, a man so ordinary he was practically invisible, staring at a piece of paper that claimed to be a ‘quantum teleportation device manual’. It had arrived, naturally, via Amazon Prime.

“Right,” Doug muttered, adjusting his glasses, “let’s see if I can beam myself a cup of tea.”

He plugged in the device which was a rather fetching shade of beige and input the GPS coordinates for the kitchen. A moment later, there was a loud *POP* and a cloud of steam. When it cleared, a rather soggy-looking kettle stood in the middle of his desk.

“Well, that’s one way to make tea,” Doug observed. He sighed. “Might as well try for biscuits.”
