The Nordic runes, also known as the Elder Futhark, are a set of 24 characters used as an early writing system by Germanic peoples. Each rune also holds symbolic meanings and associations. Here’s a full list of the Elder Futhark runes with their names and general meanings:

First Aett (Group)
1. ᚠ Fehu
Meaning: Wealth, abundance, prosperity, new beginnings.
Symbolism: Cattle, a sign of wealth in ancient societies.

2. ᚢ Uruz
Meaning: Strength, vitality, physical health.
Symbolism: The aurochs (wild ox), a powerful and untamed animal.

3. ᚦ Thurisaz
Meaning: Defense, challenge, protection, breaking barriers.
Symbolism: A thorn, or the destructive force of a giant.

4. ᚨ Ansuz
Meaning: Communication, wisdom, divine inspiration.
Symbolism: The god Odin, associated with insight and speech.

5. ᚱ Raido
Meaning: Journey, travel, movement, rhythm.
Symbolism: A chariot or path.

6. ᚲ Kaunan (Kenaz)
Meaning: Knowledge, creativity, vision, illumination.
Symbolism: A torch or flame, a light in the darkness.
