Dave & Vinny: Hydrogen

Longcroft Estate, Rampant Horse Pub.

"Vinny I'm developing quite and interest in these so called new energy cars."
Dave sipped his pint.
"Oh yeah? Is this since you went with Jeff the architect in his Tesla on your adventure."
Vinny sipped his pint.
"Yes. I've been reading up on hydrogen cars."
"Wow, imagine that vehicles running on hydrogen. The most abundant element on Earth."
"Is it? That's a great pub quiz answer."
"It's also extremely flammable."
"Hell yes."
"Also it's the lightest element with an atomic weight of 1.00794."
"Where did you get all these hydrogen facts from?"
"I was nearly a chemistry teacher in a former life."
Vinny shuddered
"So anyway I was going to say.I was reading some Daily Mail comments."
Dave laughed.
"That must have been fun for you."
"Indeed. There were more trolls than in a Lord of the Rings movie. But they were dissing electic cars and saying that hydrogen is the future."
"They think petrol is flammable if hydrogen goes up it's goodnight Vienna!"
"Also if I'm correct in my limited knowledge here in order to dispense it into a vehicle it would have to be super chilled. Making it both impractical and expensive to store."
"So given the recent advances in battery tech and the millions in ongoing research it would seem that for now batteries would be the way to proceed."
"Not according to the Daily Fail comments section."
No one listens to those guys."
"True enough."
