Cabbage Soup — A D.I. Davis Mystery

D.I. Davis kicked in the door and immediately choked on the smell. A corpse lay on a treadmill, an obese male in grey sweat pants. She gagged once more at the foul smell.

“What’s up m’am is it the smell of the corpse?” Asked D.S. Morgan.

Davis tried not to gip and shook her head.

“No, it’s the smell of cabbage soup coming from the kitchen. I was on that diet. By comparison the corpse smells fresh as a daisy.”
